By Todd Johnson on 15-Dec-2014 18:59 pm (3 years ago)Retirement Newsletter
Good morning, The sharp drop in oil weighed on investors and led to a sharp selloff on Friday (12/12/2014). Worries about weak economic data from China also prompted fears of a global economic slowdown. The S&P 500 index was down 33 points (down 1.62%) on Friday and closed the week at 2,002.33 for a weekly loss of 3.46%. ... (more)

03-Nov-2014 DividendLab Newsletter

By Todd Johnson on 3-Nov-2014 12:03 pm (3 years ago)Retirement Newsletter, ,
Good morning, The stock market got off to a weak start on Monday as dour economic news from Europe, with business confidence down in Germany for the sixth straight month, and a drop in oil prices played on investors' minds. Stocks of global companies fared the worst while industries such as telecom that depended solely on the U.S. economy were in favor. Wall Street was also unhappy that 13 of Europe’s 130 largest banks failed recent stress tests. No trades in this issue. Trade updates will be sent later this week. ... (more)

27-Oct-2014 DividendLab Newsletter

By Todd Johnson on 27-Oct-2014 7:52 am (3 years ago)Retirement Newsletter,
The U.S. stock market started the week on a positive note as investors stepped in to buy after significant turbulence in the prior week. Investors remain concerned that weakness in Europe could spread to the U.S. even though they are bullish on the U.S. stock market over the long-term based on how well domestic companies are performing. The price of oil remains near its lowest level since June 2012.... (more)

20-Oct-2014 DividendLab Newsletter

By Todd Johnson on 20-Oct-2014 5:46 am (3 years ago)Retirement Newsletter,
Good morning, This is more of a market warning check than a repositioning/new position update. I will take a couple days to see how the market is acting before making any serious trades. The market went from a correction to a rebound very quickly. I don't put a lot of faith in this rebound. In this issue I cover Wynn Resort (WYNN). I will have a market update after I establish a market review early on in this week.... (more)

13-Oct-2014 DividendLab Newsletter

By Todd Johnson on 13-Oct-2014 6:14 am (3 years ago)Retirement Newsletter, ,
Hello all. I hope everyone had a terrific week. The market has been very volatile.  I think the market continues to be volatile. I plan to review positions to add names. I am selling names, perhaps, early. I do believe the market can move downward – and I want to own the names that less risk in this volatile market. Have a great week! Todd Johnson – October 12, 2014. ... (more)
